Courtney Elgart, COUNSEL

Courtney Elgart is a trial and appellate litigator with frontline experience on the plaintiff and defense side. She has secured victories for her clients at trial and on appeal in dozens of cases. Courtney specializes in litigating on behalf of and advising clients in highly regulated industries. She has represented clients in, among others, the entertainment industry, in the cannabis industry, and in politics.

Prior to joining Sullivan & Triggs, Courtney was an associate at Perkins Coie where she represented nonprofits, political parties, and candidates in litigation and administrative proceedings, including both civil and criminal matters. For example, Courtney was part of a successful trial and appellate team that defended President Biden’s victory in Nevada against an election contest by the Trump Campaign alleging widespread fraud.

After graduating magna cum laude and Order of the Coif from Georgetown University Law Center, Courtney clerked for Judge Richard Andrews on the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware, one of the busiest district courts in the country with a significant complex business litigation docket, and for Judge Guido Calabresi on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.

Before attending law school, Courtney was a legislative aide and chief of staff in the Massachusetts Legislature.
